The Celestial Library
"Knowledge is the light that guides every trainer's journey."
Welcome, Trainer
The Celestial Library holds the ancient knowledge of the NuPalz world. Here you will learn the secrets of type matchups, battle mechanics, and strategies to become a legendary trainer.
Ah, a new page begins! Welcome to my library, young trainer.
I am Aurora Paige, Keeper of Infinite Pages. I have read 47,392 books, and not one of them taught me as much as watching a trainer bond with their first companion.
Let me tell you a secret: every legendary trainer was once exactly as confused as you might be now. And that is perfectly wonderful! For confusion is simply the first chapter of understanding.
Whether you seek knowledge of battle tactics, the mysteries of elemental types, or simply wish to become the best trainer you can be, you have come to the right place. The library knows what you need.
Now then, shall we begin your education?

Did You Know?
Your companion learns new skills as they level up! Check your Skills Loadout regularly in the Dashboard to equip powerful new abilities.
Your Journey Begins
Every legendary trainer started exactly where you stand now. Let me guide you through your first steps in the world of NuPalz.
When you first arrived in our world, the Keeper of Companions saw something special within you. From the cosmic void, a single light pulsed brighter than all the rest—a small creature named Pixel had been waiting, across time itself, for you. The Keeper brought you together, for the bond was already written in starlight.
Your companion is more than a battle partner. They are your friend, your ally, and your responsibility. The bond you forge will grow stronger with every game you play together, every battle you face, and every moment you share.
Visit your Dashboard to see your companion. There you will find everything about them: their stats, their mood, their hunger, and their happiness. A happy, well-fed companion performs better in all things!
The Pet Button
Click the Pet button on your Dashboard to show your companion some love. This increases your Bond and their Happiness. You can pet them once every hour. They notice. They always notice.
Your Dashboard is the heart of your trainer experience. Think of it as your personal journal, where every aspect of your companion's life is recorded.
-
HP (Health Points)
Your companion's life force. When this reaches zero in battle, they faint. Keep it full!
-
MP (Mana Points)
The magical energy used to cast skills. Some powerful abilities cost more MP. Manage it wisely!
-
Hunger
A hungry companion is a grumpy companion. Feed them regularly with food from the Food Market!
-
Happiness
Happy companions perform better. Pet them, play with toys, and never let this bar get too low!
-
Bond
The sacred connection between trainer and companion. This grows slowly but unlocks powerful bonuses.
Now that you understand the basics, let us walk through what you should do in your first day as a trainer:
-
Open Your Welcome Pack
Check your Inventory for the Welcome Pack. It contains potions, food, a Lucky Charm accessory, and 500 bonus NuPointz!
-
Pet Your Companion
Visit your Dashboard and click the Pet button. Watch your Bond increase! This becomes a daily ritual.
-
Claim Your Daily Bonus
Check your NuPointz balance in the header. Every day you visit, you earn bonus NP! Build a streak for bigger rewards.
-
Play a Game
Visit the Games Arcade and play any game. You will earn NuPointz AND your companion gains experience!
-
Equip Your Lucky Charm
Go to Dashboard > Equipment Tab and equip the Lucky Charm from your Welcome Pack. It gives +5% NP from all sources!
Your companion grows through experience. Every game you play and every battle you fight awards EXP. When they have enough, they level up!
Leveling up is magical:
-
Stats Increase: HP, MP, STR, DEF, WIS, AGI, and more all grow with each level.
-
Full HP Restore: Leveling up completely heals your companion! A crucial battle mechanic.
-
New Skills: At certain levels, your companion learns new abilities. Check your Skills Loadout!
-
Evolution Unlocks: At specific milestones, your companion can evolve into a stronger form!
The Skills Loadout
Visit Dashboard > Skills Tab to see all the skills your companion has learned. You can equip different skills to different slots. Experiment! The right loadout makes all the difference in battle.
Ah, the Marketplace! A bustling village of wonderful shopkeepers, each with their own specialties. Let me introduce you to some dear friends of mine:
-
Granny Maple's Food Market: The sweetest grandmother you will ever meet. Her food restores hunger and gives temporary buffs!
-
Professor Bubbles' Potion Emporium: Eccentric but brilliant. His potions heal HP and MP during battle. Stock up before challenging trainers!
-
Blacksmith Thorin's Iron Forge: Gruff but kind-hearted. His weapons and armor will make your companion stronger in battle.
-
Lady Sparkle's Glamour Boutique: Fabulous accessories with special effects. Looking good IS part of fighting good!
-
Sage Mystara's Arcane Archives: Mysterious magical items and tomes. She speaks in riddles, but her wares are worth the confusion.
When you feel ready, visit the Battlegrounds Arena. Here, you will test your skills against wild NuPalz, trainers, and eventually... legendary bosses.
For your first battle, I recommend challenging a Wild Shruffle. They are gentle creatures - relatively speaking - and perfect for learning the basics.
Before your first battle:
-
Bring Health Potions
You can use items during battle! A potion at the right moment can turn defeat into victory.
-
Check Your Skills
Make sure you have equipped your best attack skills. Basic Attack is always available but costs 0 MP.
-
Equip Your Gear
Any equipment you own should be equipped. Every stat point matters!
Battle Wisdom
Even if you lose a battle, you still earn NP, EXP, and Bond. There is no shame in defeat - only opportunities to learn. I have read this in at least 200 books, so it must be true.
You have now completed Chapter One of your trainer story. The path ahead is long, filled with challenges, triumphs, and endless possibilities.
There is so much more to discover:
-
Trainer Battles: Challenge NPC trainers with unique teams and strategies. They have loot to earn!
-
Raid Bosses: Massive community challenges where all trainers work together to defeat legendary threats.
-
Evolution: When your companion is ready, they can evolve into a more powerful form!
-
Leaderboards: Compete with other trainers for the highest scores and rankings.
-
Healing Springs: A magical place where Lumina Dewdrop can heal your tired companions for free!
The library doors are always open to you.
The Type System
Every companion and skill has one or more elemental types. Understanding type matchups is crucial to winning battles!
Type Effectiveness Chart
When attacking, check if your skill type is super effective (2×) or not very effective (0.5×) against your opponent's type. Dual-type and triple-type companions stack these multipliers!
Stacked Multipliers
Dual-type example: Ice vs Nature/Flying = 2× × 2× = 4× damage!
Triple-type example: Attack hitting 3 weaknesses = 2× × 2× × 2× = 8× DEVASTATING!
Notable Type Matchups
-
Fire → Nature, Ice & Steel: Fire burns through plants, melts ice, and forges through metal with 2× damage!
-
Ice → Dragon: Dragons fear the cold! Ice deals 2× damage to Dragon-types.
-
Fairy → Dragon & Dark: Fairy magic is super effective against both Dragons and Dark types!
-
Ice vs Nature/Flying: 4× ULTRA EFFECTIVE! Both types are weak to Ice, so multipliers stack!
-
Electric → Ground: Ground-types are IMMUNE to Electric attacks (0× damage). Never use electricity against earth!
-
Ground → Flying: Flying-types are IMMUNE to Ground attacks (0× damage). They simply fly above it!
-
Water/Ground vs Electric: Ground immunity protects the whole type combo! Any × 0 = 0×
-
Dragon → Fairy & Steel: Dragon attacks deal only 0.5× damage to Fairy and Steel types.
STAB Bonus (Same Type Attack Bonus)
When your companion uses a skill that matches their type, they deal 25% extra damage! For example, a Fire-type companion using a Fire skill gets 1.25× damage after type effectiveness is applied. Fire-type using Fire on Nature/Ice = 2× × 2× × 1.25 = 5× total damage!
Immunity Protection
If a dual-type defender has any type that's immune, the immunity protects them completely! Example: Water/Ground is immune to Electric because Ground absorbs it (2× × 0× = 0×).
Understanding Stats
Every companion has ten stats that determine their power in battle and their bond with you.
All 10 Stats Explained
HP (Health)
How much damage your companion can take before fainting
MP (Mana)
Resource used to cast skills. Some skills cost 0 MP!
STR (Strength)
Increases physical attack damage
DEF (Defense)
Reduces physical damage taken. Only increases via evolution!
AGI (Agility)
Determines turn order; affects evasion and accuracy
DEX (Dexterity)
Increases critical hit chance and accuracy
INT (Intelligence)
Increases magic attack power
WIS (Wisdom)
Reduces magic damage taken and increases healing power
LCK (Luck)
Affects loot drops, critical hits, and random effects
BOND
Your connection strength with this companion. Increases through care and battles!
Stat Growth
Stats increase every time your NuPalz level up! Different companions have different growth rates:
-
Base Stats: The starting stats your companion has at level 1.
-
Growth Rates: How much each stat increases per level. Warriors grow more STR; Mages grow more INT and WIS.
-
Level Up Bonus: Leveling up fully restores your companion's HP!
Equipment Bonuses
Weapons, armor, and accessories add bonus stats to your companion. Visit The Iron Forge in the Marketplace to purchase equipment!
Battle Mechanics
Understanding how damage is calculated will help you choose the right skills and strategies.
Damage Formula
The damage calculation follows this formula:
Physical Damage:
base_damage = STR × Skill Power
def_reduction = DEF ÷ (DEF + 100)
final_damage = base_damage × (1 - def_reduction) × Type Multiplier
Magic Damage:
base_damage = INT × Skill Power
wis_reduction = WIS ÷ (WIS + 100)
final_damage = base_damage × (1 - wis_reduction) × Type Multiplier
-
Physical: STR determines attack power; enemy DEF reduces damage.
-
Magic: INT determines attack power; enemy WIS reduces damage.
-
Critical Hits: Deal 1.5× damage! DEX + LCK together determine crit chance.
-
Turn Order: AGI determines who acts first. Higher AGI also helps dodge attacks!
Defense Reduction Examples
Here's how DEF/WIS reduces incoming damage:
-
DEF 50: Reduces physical damage by 33% (50 ÷ 150)
-
DEF 100: Reduces physical damage by 50%
-
DEF 200: Reduces physical damage by 67%
-
WIS 42: Reduces magic damage by ~30% (Shruffle example)
Targeting Weakness
If an opponent has high DEF but low WIS, use magic attacks! Check their types to also get type advantage for maximum damage.

Tips for Aspiring Crafters
-
Learn recipes early: As soon as you reach the level requirement, learn the recipe! You can craft later when you have materials.
-
Stock up on basics: Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Herb Bundle, and Monster Fang are used in many recipes. Keep 20-50 of each.
-
Batch crafting saves time: Craft up to 10 items at once. The NP cost and materials scale, but you save clicks!
-
Crafted items are often better: Many crafted items have stats that exceed shop equivalents at the same level.
-
Budget for high-tier recipes: Dragonslayer's Edge costs 35,000 NP plus expensive materials. Plan your savings!
