The World of Nutopia: A Beginner's Guide to the NuPalz Universe

NuPalz is a virtual pet platform with 70 species, 15 games, two currencies, and an evolving world called Nutopia. Whether you're brand new or coming back after a break, this guide covers the foundations of the entire NuPalz universe — what's here, how it works, and where to start.

The Species

At the heart of NuPalz are the companions — 70 unique species, each with their own visual identity, elemental type, and evolution line. Every species progresses through multiple evolution stages, changing in appearance and strength as they grow.

Species span a wide range of themes. Some are grounded in nature: Flicko, an Electric/Speed fox with crackling energy; Aquami, a Water/Spirit creature found among coral reefs; Frostail, an Ice/Fairy companion from snowy meadows. Others venture into more imaginative territory: Corelix, an AI/Tech hybrid made of crystalline fragments; Galaxi, a Cosmic/Dragon from deep space; Glitchi, a digital anomaly that exists across four evolution stages.

Each species has one or two of the game's 26 elemental types (including Fire, Water, Nature, Electric, Ice, Ground, Rock, Flying, Steel, Ghost, Dark, Light, Psychic, Dragon, Fairy, Tech, AI, Glitch, Chaos, Sound, Spirit, Cosmic, Dream, Beast, Sweet, and Speed). These types matter in Battlegrounds where matchups determine damage multipliers.

The Games

NuPalz has 15 games, and they're not filler. Each one has its own economy, difficulty scaling, and scoring tiers. You earn NuPalz Points (NP) from every game, with rewards scaling based on your performance tier.

Every game supports three difficulty levels — Easy (1x NP), Medium (1.25x), and Hard (1.5x) — except for Drowla Chase and Zephyra's Flight, which use a coin-based system where hard mode doubles the NP per coin collected. You get 10 free submissions per game per day; additional plays cost 1 Premium Point each.

Battlegrounds

Battlegrounds is NuPalz's PvE combat system. Your companions fight using skills tied to their elemental type, with 26 type matchups determining damage. Recent updates added a full arena overhaul: perspective 3D floors, impact particles, screen shake on critical hits, and animated victory confetti.

Combat uses an HP/MP system with skill buttons, status effects (including invisibility and burns), and multi-companion modes (1v1, 2v1 boss battles, and 3v1 raids). Winning battles earns NP, EXP, Bond points, and loot drops including crafting materials.

Subscriptions

NuPalz uses an 8-tier subscription system, from Free through Legend. Each tier adds benefits like monthly PP allowances, NP multipliers on game earnings, bank interest bonuses, and daily AI chat sessions with your companions.

Every paid tier also includes annual pricing (roughly two months free) and monthly PP allocations that range from ~180 PP at Starter to ~1,440 PP at Legend.
