April 2026 Update: New Evolution Paths, Balance Changes, and What's Ahead
Spring is here and NuPalz is growing with it. The April update brings new evolution branches for existing species, meaningful balance adjustments to Battlegrounds, Stock Market gameplay improvements, and a batch of quality-of-life fixes that make daily play smoother. Here's everything that's changed.
New Evolution Paths
New Content Branching Evolutions
- Several existing species now have alternate evolution branches. Instead of a single linear path, these palz can evolve in different directions based on their training focus and elemental affinity. This rewards players who invest in specific stat builds rather than just raw leveling.
- Branch requirements are transparent. Each evolution branch shows exactly what stats, level, and conditions your pal needs to meet. No hidden requirements or RNG gates — if you meet the criteria, you can choose your path.
- Branched evolutions have distinct visual designs. Each path produces a visually different pal with different stat distributions and Battlegrounds strengths, giving you real strategic choice rather than cosmetic-only variations.
Tip
If your pal is already at a high level, check the new evolution requirements in the pal details screen. Some branches require specific stat ratios that are easier to build early, so plan your training accordingly.
Battlegrounds Balance Changes
Balance Competitive Adjustments
- Elemental advantage damage multipliers adjusted. Super-effective hits now deal 1.4x damage (down from 1.5x). This reduces the number of one-shot scenarios and gives defenders more room to respond tactically.
- Speed tie resolution improved. When two palz have identical speed stats, the tiebreaker now considers the pal's level as a secondary factor instead of random coin flips. Higher investment is rewarded consistently.
- Healing moves rebalanced. Healing abilities now scale with the user's max HP percentage rather than flat values. This makes healing viable at all levels without being overpowered at lower tiers.
- Matchmaking adjustments. The rating spread for Battlegrounds matchmaking has been tightened, meaning you'll face opponents closer to your actual skill level. Queue times may increase slightly at extreme rating ranges.
Stock Market Improvements
Improvement Trading Experience
- Price history charts now show 30-day trends. Previously limited to 7 days, the extended view helps you make more informed buy and sell decisions based on longer-term patterns.
- Portfolio summary added. A new overview panel shows your total portfolio value, daily change, and profit/loss per holding without needing to calculate manually.
- Transaction history is now exportable. You can review your complete trading history for any time period. Useful for tracking your NP earnings strategy over time.

Quality of Life Fixes
QoL Daily Play Improvements
- Dashboard load times reduced. The main dashboard now loads significantly faster, especially for players with large pal collections. Asset loading has been optimized to prioritize visible content.
- Daily Bonus reminder notification. If you haven't claimed your Daily Bonus by noon (your local time), you'll see a gentle reminder. Configurable in notification settings.
- Inventory sorting persistence. Your preferred sort order (by name, quantity, rarity, or recent) now saves between sessions instead of resetting to default every time.
- Typing Race word list expanded. Over 200 new words added to the Typing Race pool, reducing repetition in longer sessions and keeping the challenge fresh for experienced typists.
- Memory Match board sizes. A new 6x6 board option has been added alongside the existing sizes, offering a middle ground between casual and marathon difficulty.
Companion Chat Improvements
Improvement AI Conversations
- Response quality improved. Companion chat responses are now more contextually aware of your pal's species, personality, and recent activities. Your pal's chat persona feels more distinct and consistent.
- Chat history loads faster. Previous conversation history is now paginated and loads on scroll rather than all at once, improving performance for players with long chat histories.

What's Next
Looking ahead, here's what's in the pipeline for the coming weeks:
- Seasonal event framework is in testing. The first seasonal event is planned for later this spring with exclusive rewards, temporary currencies, and time-limited challenges.
- Guild tournaments are moving from design to development. The guild system foundation is solid, and competitive guild-vs-guild Battlegrounds are the next step.
- More new species are in development, including types that take advantage of the new branching evolution system from day one.
