Upcoming Features: What's Next for NuPalz
NuPalz has grown from a simple virtual pet platform into a full ecosystem with 15 games, companion evolution, guilds, a marketplace, and PvP battlegrounds. Here's what we're working on next — and what's further out on the roadmap.
New Species on the Horizon
New Content Species Expansion
- New elemental combinations are in development. The current 25-type elemental system has room for species that blend types in ways we haven't explored yet. Expect companions that challenge existing Battlegrounds strategies and open new evolution paths.
- Expanded evolution trees. Several existing species will gain additional evolution stages. We're designing these to reward long-term care and training, not just raw level grinding.
- Visual refreshes for early species. Some of our earliest companion designs are getting updated artwork to bring them in line with the quality level of newer additions.
Tip
Keep leveling your current companions. When new evolution branches arrive, companions that are already at high levels will be able to access the new paths immediately.
Crafting System Expansion
Expansion New Recipes and Materials
- Material synthesis is being expanded. The current crafting system supports basic recipes, but we're adding multi-step crafting chains where intermediate materials combine into higher-tier items. This creates real depth for players who invest in crafting.
- Companion-specific gear. We're exploring craftable equipment that boosts specific elemental types in Battlegrounds. This connects the crafting and combat systems in a meaningful way.
- Marketplace integration. Crafted items will be listable on the marketplace, giving crafters a way to turn their materials into NP through the player economy.
Guild Tournaments
Competitive Guild Play
- Guild vs Guild Battlegrounds. Organized tournaments where guilds compete in team-based Battlegrounds matches. Each guild member contributes their best companions to a shared roster, and matches are scored across the entire team.
- Leaderboard seasons. Periodic competitive seasons with guild rankings, individual contribution tracking, and end-of-season rewards. Top guilds earn exclusive cosmetics and titles.
- Guild challenges. Weekly cooperative objectives that the entire guild works toward together — total NP earned, games played, battles won. Completing challenges earns guild-wide bonuses.
Seasonal Events
Seasonal Limited-Time Content
- Themed events with exclusive rewards. Time-limited events built around holidays and seasons, each with unique challenges, cosmetics, and limited-edition items that won't be available again.
- Event currencies. Seasonal events will use their own temporary currencies, earned through event-specific activities. This keeps event rewards tied to participation rather than existing wealth.
- Returning event framework. Popular events may return in future years with new content added on top of the original. Players who participated previously keep their original rewards.
How Events Will Work
Seasonal events are designed so that free players can earn the core rewards through regular play. Premium tiers will have access to bonus cosmetic tracks, but the event itself will be fully playable at every subscription level.
Quality of Life Improvements
QoL Things That Make Daily Play Better
- Improved notification system. Smarter alerts for companion care reminders, marketplace sales, guild activity, and daily bonus availability. Notifications will be configurable so you only see what matters to you.
- Bulk actions in inventory. Managing hundreds of items one at a time is tedious. Bulk select, bulk sell, and bulk transfer are high-priority quality-of-life improvements.
- Enhanced mobile experience. Touch interactions, responsive layouts, and performance optimizations specifically targeting mobile browsers. NuPalz is a PWA, and we want the mobile experience to feel native.
- Quick-play shortcuts. One-tap access to your most-played games from the dashboard, reducing the clicks between logging in and actually playing.
- Companion sorting and filtering. Sort your companions by level, element, rarity, or Battlegrounds stats. Filter to find exactly the companion you're looking for without scrolling through your entire collection.
Social Features
Better Ways to Connect
- Friend activity feed. See what your friends are up to — achievements earned, rare companions hatched, marketplace listings, and game high scores. This adds a social layer without requiring real-time interaction.
- Companion showcase profiles. A dedicated display page for your best companions that you can share with friends and guildmates. Show off your rarest species, highest-level fighters, and achievement badges.
- Trading system improvements. More secure peer-to-peer trading with trade history, offer management, and protection against common trading mistakes.
What's the Timeline?
We're not attaching hard dates to these features. Game development timelines are unpredictable, and we'd rather ship something polished than rush something incomplete. What we can say:
- Quality of life improvements are the highest priority. These roll out continuously as they're ready.
- New species and evolution expansions are actively in development.
- Guild tournaments are in the design phase. The guild system is already in place, so the foundation is solid.
- Seasonal events are being planned for later this year.
