Gacha Capsules Explained: Odds, Strategies, and Best Pulls
Gacha Capsules are one of the most exciting — and most misunderstood — features in NuPalz. The thrill of cracking open a capsule and seeing what's inside is hard to beat, but going in blind means leaving good pulls on the table. This guide breaks down how the system works, what the odds actually are, and how to spend your currency wisely.
How Gacha Capsules Work
Gacha Capsules are NuPalz's collectible pull system. You spend currency to open a capsule, and inside you'll find items ranging from common consumables to ultra-rare companions and exclusive cosmetics. Every pull is randomized, but the odds are transparent — no mystery boxes here.
There are multiple capsule tiers available, each with different costs and different loot pools. Higher-tier capsules cost more but contain rarer items and better base odds. You can access the Gacha Capsules page from the games menu at any time.
Pro Tip
Every capsule pull has an independent random outcome. Previous results don't affect future pulls. There's no "hot streak" or "cold streak" mechanic — each pull is its own event.
Capsule Tiers and Costs
NuPalz offers ten capsule pools — five purchasable with NP and five with PP. Higher tiers cost more but offer better rarity rates and unlock companion drops. Each pool also offers a 10x multi-pull at a discounted rate.
NP Capsules (earned through gameplay)
| Capsule | Single Pull | 10x Pull | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | 100 NP | 1,000 NP | Common/uncommon items, daily supplies |
| Standard | 500 NP | 5,000 NP | Better odds, chance at rare items |
| Premium | 1,000 NP | 10,000 NP | First tier with companion drops (uncommon+) |
| Deluxe | 5,000 NP | 50,000 NP | High epic rate, rare/epic companion chance |
| Ultimate | 25,000 NP | 250,000 NP | Best NP-tier odds, legendary companions possible |
PP Capsules (better companion rates)
| Capsule | Single Pull | 10x Pull | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Budget | 10 PP | 100 PP | Affordable PP entry point |
| Premium Standard | 50 PP | 500 PP | First PP tier with companion drops |
| Premium Elite | 100 PP | 1,000 PP | Enhanced companion odds, rare companions possible |
| Premium Deluxe | 500 PP | 5,000 PP | High epic companion rate, mythic items |
| Premium Ultimate | 2,500 PP | 25,000 PP | Best odds overall, legendary companions truly possible |
NP capsules are accessible to everyone through gameplay earnings. PP capsules offer boosted companion rates since Premium Points are a premium currency. You can earn PP through achievements, subscription tier bonuses, or PP packs.
Pull Odds by Rarity
Every item in a capsule has a rarity tier. Odds vary by pool — higher-tier capsules shift the distribution toward rarer items and unlock additional rarity tiers. Here are the item drop rates for the NP pools (PP pools are similar with slightly better companion rates):
| Rarity | Budget | Standard | Premium | Deluxe | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 70% | 40% | — | — | — |
| Uncommon | 25% | 35% | 32% | — | — |
| Rare | 5% | 20% | 42% | 25% | — |
| Epic | — | 5% | 20% | 40% | 29.7% |
| Legendary | — | — | 5% | 25% | 45% |
| Mythic | — | — | — | 5% | 20% |
On top of item drops, Premium (1,000 NP) and higher capsules also have a separate companion drop chance. For example, the NP Ultimate pool has a 3% rare, 2% epic, and 0.3% legendary companion rate per pull. PP pools boost these companion rates further.
What Can You Pull?
The loot pool varies by capsule tier, but across all tiers you can find items in these categories:
Common Items
Basic food, small NP bonuses, common grooming supplies, standard potions. Useful for daily companion care and grinding.
Uncommon Items
Enhanced food with stat boosts, moderate NP bundles, uncommon accessories, and training items that speed up companion development.
Rare Items
Premium grooming kits, large NP bundles, rare cosmetic accessories, evolution catalysts that unlock new companion forms.
Epic Items
Exclusive companion skins, PP bundles, epic-tier accessories with visible effects, and limited-edition items that rotate seasonally.
Legendary Items
Ultra-rare companions, large PP bundles, legendary cosmetics with unique animations, and one-of-a-kind collectibles that show up in your trainer profile.
Smart Spending Strategies
The temptation to dump all your NP into capsules the moment you have enough is real. But a little strategy goes a long way toward maximizing your returns.
If you're going to pull Standard Capsules, save up for multiple pulls in a session rather than pulling one at a time. While each pull is independent, batch pulling lets you evaluate your collection and decide whether to keep spending — rather than impulsively pulling after every game.
Premium Points are harder to come by than NP. Don't spend PP on the Budget tier when they can buy you significantly better odds in Elite (100 PP) or Deluxe (500 PP). If you have limited PP, the Premium Elite Capsule at 100 PP offers the best value per point with enhanced companion rates.
During seasonal events, NuPalz sometimes introduces limited-time capsules with exclusive loot pools. These often contain items you can't get anywhere else. Keep an eye on game updates so you don't miss them.
Budget and Standard capsules don't even drop legendary items. If you're hunting legendaries, save for a Deluxe (5,000 NP / 500 PP) or Ultimate capsule. The NP Ultimate pool has a 45% legendary item rate — dramatically better than trying to grind your way through lower tiers.
PP Earning Tip
You don't have to buy PP to use Premium Capsules. Achievements, milestone rewards, and subscription tiers all grant PP. Check your NP farming guide for tips on maximizing all your currency earnings — including PP from achievements.
NP vs. PP Capsules: Which Are Worth It?
For most trainers, the answer depends on what you're after:
- Building a collection from scratch? NP Budget and Standard capsules are your best friend. The common and uncommon items fill out your inventory and give you the supplies you need for daily companion care.
- Hunting specific rares or companions? NP Premium (1,000 NP) is the first tier with companion drops. PP Elite (100 PP) offers even better companion rates for premium currency users.
- Going for legendaries and mythics? Deluxe and Ultimate pools are the only serious options. The Ultimate pool drops legendary items at 45% and mythic at 20%, with rare+ companion chances on top. PP Ultimate (2,500 PP) has the best companion rates in the game.
What NOT to Do
A few common mistakes new trainers make with Gacha Capsules:
- Don't spend all your NP on capsules. You still need NP for feeding, grooming, marketplace purchases, and game entries. Budget your pulls — a good rule of thumb is no more than 20% of your weekly NP earnings on capsules.
- Don't ignore common pulls. Common items look boring, but food and potions are essential for keeping your companions healthy and battle-ready. A stocked inventory is never wasted.
- Don't rage-pull. If you've done 10 pulls without a rare, resist the urge to keep going until you get one. Each pull is independent — there's no "due" mechanic. Step away, play some games, and come back when you've earned more currency.
